1. Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of EventMap (the "Service"), including the mobile apps, websites, APIs, and related services. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Please refer to our Privacy Policy for information about your data protection rights.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction)
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• You must notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorized use of your account
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law
• You may delete your account at any time through the app's account settings
• Email verification is required to access certain features (creating events, RSVP, chat)

3. The Service

EventMap enables users to discover, create, and manage events, RSVP to events, engage in event-related chats (private events only), and receive notifications and reminders.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time with or without notice. We will notify users of material changes as required by law.

4. User-Generated Content

• You retain ownership of content you post (event listings, chat messages, images, descriptions)
• You grant EventMap a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, and display your content
• You represent that your content does not infringe third-party rights
• Prohibited content includes: illegal content, hate speech, harassment, threats, or content that violates privacy or intellectual property rights
• We may remove content and/or suspend accounts at our discretion

5. Event Listings & RSVP

• Event creators are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and safety of their events
• We do not guarantee event attendance, outcomes, or availability
• RSVP information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and GDPR requirements
• Event creators may view RSVP details for planning purposes
• Email verification is required to create events and submit RSVPs

6. Event Chat (Private Events Only)

• Chat is only available for private events
• Chat participation is limited to event creators and users who have RSVP'd
• You must not post unlawful, abusive, spam, or unsafe content
• We may moderate, limit, or remove chat content
• Chat messages are stored in accordance with our Privacy Policy
• Email verification is required to participate in event chats

7. Email Verification

• Users who sign up with email/password must verify their email address
• Email verification is required to create events, RSVP, and participate in chats
• Apple Sign-In and Google Sign-In users are automatically verified
• Verification emails are sent automatically by Firebase Authentication
• You can resend verification emails through the app

8. Prohibited Activities

You may NOT:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Impersonate others or provide false information
• Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
• Post spam, advertising, or promotional content without permission
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
• Use automated systems (bots) to access the Service
• Reverse engineer or decompile the app
• Create accounts with fake or unverified email addresses to abuse the service

9. Intellectual Property

The EventMap app, including its design, logo, and features, is owned by SELABS TECH PTY LIMITED and protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our intellectual property without permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

EventMap is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:

• Events that are cancelled, changed, or misrepresented
• Interactions between users
• Loss of data or service interruptions
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold SELABS TECH PTY LIMITED (operating as EventMap) harmless from any claims arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

12. Privacy

Your use of EventMap is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use your information.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

14. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

You may terminate your account at any time through the app's Settings. Upon termination, your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and GDPR requirements.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of your jurisdiction. For GDPR users, EU law applies to the extent applicable.

16. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of EventMap should first be addressed through good faith negotiations. If unresolved, disputes may be subject to binding arbitration or court proceedings in accordance with applicable law.
